All area figures produced by BhumiMeter — including Bigha, Biswa, Katha, Gaj, Kanal, Marla, Cent, Guntha, acre, hectare, and square-foot equivalents — are indicative estimates for general reference. They are not certified survey measurements and must not be used as the sole basis for buying, selling, mortgaging, partitioning, or registering land.
Verify with official records
Before any transaction or legal step, you must verify the exact area with:
- Revenue department / tehsil or patwari records
- Registered sale deed, khatauni, or 7/12 extract (as applicable in your state)
- A licensed land surveyor or government-approved measurement
- Local counsel familiar with state land laws
Indian land units vary by state, district, and even village. Historical records may use kachha vs pucca Bigha, local Katha sizes, or oral conventions that differ from published standards. BhumiMeter surfaces known variants but cannot know every local exception.
